25 Days of Difference

I am so sorry everybody!

I am sooooooo sorry! I have had a list so long that it has been difficult to do anything for this blog. But.....I did do something "good-deed-blog-worthy". Yesterday Riley and I were with a friend (won't name names, not sure if she wants this event out there with her name) and her dad was making her go to brunch with him. She was super stressed because she left for Texas today and she had about zero holiday shopping done. So Riley and I volunteered to do her shopping for her. That made her feel a lot less stressed. Riley and I went to a bunch of shops and sent her pictures to make sure it was the right thing. This was extremely fun and took all of about fifteen minutes.

TESSA

My mom, sister, and I went to Target to buy gifts for TESSA families. TESSA is a non-profit that supports women and children exposed to domestic violence. So my sister and I picked out some gifts for people our age, keeping in mind what a 12-15 year old girl/boy would like and what a girl/boy around the age of 7 might like.

Because of Basketball tryouts, I have been busy. They started last night and continue until Thursday skipping Wednesday. Anyway, I wasn't able to do anything last night so this morning I read a couple of Holiday stories to my sister Nora.

So happy 8th/9th of December! Happy 2 hour delay to District 14eers.

Out and about

We had just finished our hike and were walking by my friend, India's house. I noticed that her paper was laying out on the front steps, so I walked it up to her front porch. I also had a little snowball attack on my mom. (wasn't a good deed but it sure was funny)

Well lets see my mom sliced her thumb with a box cutter and I helped her bandage it. I also unloaded, loaded and then unloaded the dryer/washer so we could all get a load of wash done.

At school and around town

After lunch today a couple girls just dropped the trash that they were holding. It really ticked me off, the trash can was only about five feet away. So I picked it up and threw it away.

I did similar downtown when I saw trash laying around.

At home...again

Today I came home from school and we were getting ready to go to my mom's work's Holiday Party. My little sister, Nora, wasn't feeling well and my mom said that she needed to take a bath. So I decided that I could run a bath for her with Lavender oil to help soothe her a bit (after the bath her nose wasn't quite as stuffy). So I helped wash her hair and helped her pick out her little outfit for the party.

After the gathering, my mom and I ran by Safeway. In front they have the Salvation Army bucket so we donated a couple of dollars. We also picked up some more food for the Food Drive.

I came home from school today and I wasn't quite sure what to do as a good deed. But then my mom pointed out that the dishwasher was ready to be unloaded so I decide, that would suffice. So I unloaded the clean dishes and vwa-la. The dishwasher is ready to be loaded.

Happy December 2nd.

Yesterday our Student Council director asked me to do concessions for todays B-Team tournament. Even though I loath concessions I agreed because there was only one other person running it.

Today I also donated three cans of food for our Food Drive. I plan to continue bringing them in.

I hope this deed will suffice. Later on I would like to do some yard work (when and if it snows) and do some other things for our community.

Baking and shopping

Today is December 1st. So I decided that on my way home I would stop by Tubby's (local food store) and picked up two cans of food and a brownie mix. As you can guess the cans are for the Food Drive (I plan to bring more) . The brownie mix, however, is for my family. Nora had dance class today so I figured why not surprise her with a little treat? So as I'm typing the brownies are baking. But I believe that I made a small mistake; the recipe called for Vegetable Oil and all we had was Olive Oil. The batter tasted a little funny. But I don't think that it will matter very much.

We have been brain storming and here are some ideas.

volunteer at soup kitchen
bake sale
pick up trash in your neighborhood
donate food, toys, jackets, etc., to shelters or non-profits
cook a meal for someone you care about
leave a nice note for someone to find

I have already turned in my list to Mrs. Casey so I am running empty on ideas. Think about things that would brighten a persons day and make a step toward a better world. Thanks for reading and please check in often I will keep you posted if you need it.

Hello, this my blog of making a difference. Have you ever heard of Make a Difference Day? Probably not. But me and a couple of friends have decided to do 25 good deeds through out December.
